Bennett Smith scored 36 points, tying a Midland High record with nine 3-pointers, to give the Chemics their first win of the season. Jacoby Lind added eight points and Huddy Barringer seven for the Chemics, who led 28-17 at halftime.

Georgia basketball rallied and ended up pulling away for a win over Cincinnati in the Holiday Hoopsgiving event in Atlanta. Blue Cain led the way.

The Blue Devils have led the whole contest and are leading 16-11 at the 11:32 mark of the first half. Duke is off to a 46% start from the field and Michigan State 36%. Nik Khamenia is leading Duke with six points going 2-for-3 from 3 and Coen Carr leading Michigan State with 5.

Vestaburg took a 24-6 lead after one quarter and cruised to the win. Logan Lorenz and Easton Hafner scored eight points each for St. Charles, with Charles Cornford adding seven. Vestaburg’s Lucas Warczinsky led all scorers with 23 points.
